I have put together a questionaire for clients that have existing web sites to help get things started. Take a moment
and look over the questions and try to answer (or know as many of the answers) as
many of the questions before giving me a call. This will help me a lot in

What is your current domain name (i.,e., mywebsite.com)?
What is the purpose of your web site (portfolio, retail, educational,
non-profit, etc..)?
Who is your target audience?
Do you have any documentation that was provided by the web developer that
created your web site (configuration information, technologies use, login
information, etc..)?
Is your web site currently being backed up on a regular bases?
- If yes, who performs the backup and how is it being done?
- How often are the backups run (daily, weekly, monthly)?
- What is the restore process?
Do you currently update your content?
- If yes, what software tool do you use (Adobe's Contribute, Dreamweaver,
Microsoft Visual Web Developer, FrontPage, etc..)?
What changes/updates would like done (text, images, online selling, design
layout, fonts, etc..)?
What pages do these changes affect and do you need to added or remove any web pages to your web site:
- Home Page - Articles - About Us
- Links - Services Workshops - Products
- Contact Information - Online Store
Does your web site use any animation (Flash files) or video?
Will you need to have graphic work done on existing images?

Will you have photos or other material that will need to be scanned into the computer

If you sell products/service online through web site answer the following

- What payments methods do you accept (Paypal, offline payment processing - Credit
Cards over the phone, checks, etc..)?
- How many products/types of services are you currently selling?
- How do you receive your orders (log into an online system, receive emails,
etc..)?
- Are you happy with your current online selling solution? If, not please
elaborate.
How would you rate your understanding of the internet?
- Above Average - I do anything I need/want to do on the internet
- Good - general understanding - I"m able to surf the internet with ease and check
email
- Minimum – basic understanding - I can only use email
- None - I really don’t understand or use a computer much
What is the timeline for having your web site updated?
